SAUMUR ROUGE « 253 »

Until October 2009, there were in Saumur two designations of origin for the red, "Saumur" and "Saumur Champigny" with the same specifications, no hierarchical difference between the two, neither gateway can . Now there is a third, "SAUMUR PUY NOTRE DAME" which is a ranking of only AOC Saumur.

Specifications include mainly:

  • selected plots of the best terroirs
  • maximum yield of 50 hl / hectare instead of 60 hl for two other AOC, or 20% difference
  • Chemical weed control text prohibits
  • chaptalization a prohibited
  • possibility of turning in Saumur

The "SAUMUR PUY NOTRE DAME" in our area of 253 vintage we had anticipated this long awaited title, 34 years anyway! vintage styling in our "253" administrative number of our village.
